Hopi Ear Candling with Holistic Facial Massage

  • Full treatment (approx 35-45 mins): £32

Treatment with ear candles can be very beneficial*.

Treatment is carried out in a relaxing atmosphere where you will lay comfortably on your side on a couch. The treatment uses 'candles' which are hollow tubes made from cotton flax and beeswax. These are burnt slowly on the ear under the supervision of the therapist- you will hear a faint crackling sound that is very soothing and the burning candle produces a warm feeling around the ear which is very pleasant. At no time are you in any danger from a burning candle!

How do ear candles work?

A vacuum-like pressure (chimney effect) is created inside the ear canal, which, with the vibration of the rising air column, serves to gently massage the ear drum and promote secretion in the frontal and para-nasal sinuses. This has the effect of regulating and balancing ear pressure. The sensation is soothing and gives a feeling of lightness in the ear and surrounding head area. In addition, the locally applied warmth will stimulate blood circulation in the immediate area, invigorate the immune system and improve the circulatory flow of toxins from the lymph glands.

The process takes about 10 minutes for each ear, after which you will turn to lay on your back for the holistic facial massage. This is done with soothing oil and enhances the effects of the candle treatment, leaving you with a feeling of relaxation and tranquillity.

*There are certain ear conditions where Hopi is not suitable, and as with any therapy you should seek the advice of your GP if you are unsure.
